Welcome to our website!

Here you will find information about the three guiding groups that are in Colerne.

Where are we?
Colerne is a village located between Bath and Chippenham and is in the edge of Wiltshire.

What is our Guiding area?
We are in the South West Region of England, in the guiding County of Wiltshire North, within the Division of North West Wilts and in Corsham and Box District.

How does my daughter join Guiding?
Since December 2012 Girlguiding UK has made it easier for parents to find a local group and register their daughter/s via the website. If you daughter has not been involved with guiding before please go to www.girlguiding.org.uk click on the get involved link at the top of the page, then click on register interest and then register your daughter. This will take you to the new Join Us site which allows you to register your daughter with your local group/groups and the application will be sent straight to the leader. If for some reason you have any problems or would like to contact a leader first then please use the contact us link at the bottom of the options. You should hear back from us within a week (holidays permitting) to know when your daughter is likely to join, depending on if the group she is joining has a waiting list or not.
If you are moving to the area and your daughter has been in guiding already, please use the contact us page to get in touch with a suitable unit.
If you live in the village then our phone numbers are in the Parish Magazine if you wish to speak to us directly.

Can adults join Guiding?
Yes you can, both the Rainbow and Brownie groups currently have a parent rota or if you would like to help more regularly then we are looking for new leaders and unit helpers. We are also in the position to accept people wanting to become occasional residential helpers. All regular helpers will need to register with guiding and be willing to be CRBed, all of which we can organise for you. If you would like to help, please use the contact us page or go to the Girlguiding UK website and click on the register your interest in volunteering.

What groups do you have?
We have Rainbows (5-7 years olds), Brownies (7- 10 year olds) and Guides (10-14 year olds). We also have Senior section members who are all Young Leaders and help with the Rainbows, Brownies or Guides.

When do you meet?
Both the Rainbows and the Brownies meet on Mondays and the Guides on Wednesdays every week except during School and Public holidays.
