Here is a list of some of the things we got up to in 2012!

Colerne Brownies first Pack Holiday!
23rd-25th March
13 Brownies, 1 Guide Helper, 1 Young leader 3 Leaders and 2 Parent Helpers enjoyed a bat themed weekend at the Maud Heath Guiding Centre. The weather was fantastic- sunshine from beginning to end! The Brownies learnt about different bats, played games, made pompom bats, helped cook, looked for bats on the centre's bat cameras and heard them during the campfire using a bat listening detector. We even had two girls make their promise and become Brownies during the campfire with the bats flying overhead! - congratulations Katie and Honor.

Colerne Guides at PGL

Osmington Bay 11th-13th May
The Guides went to PGL Osmington Bay near Weymouth and enjoyed spending their daytime doing tunnel trail, zip wire, giant swing, aeroball, Quadbiking and getting very muddy in the sensory trail!. They spent the evenings doing patrol challenged on the first night and going to a disco with other groups on the Saturday night. Two girls who had just moved up from Brownies made their Guide Promise just before launching themselves down the zip wire, well done Milly and Jemima.

Division Diamond Jubillee Party
Saturday 19th May
8 Rainbows, 4 Brownies, 2 Guides and 1 Senior section member had a great day out at the Maud Heath Guiding Centre at a special Garden party for the Queen's Jubilee. They were joined by girls from
Chippenham, Corsham, Calne, Box and Neston. Activities including decorating a diamond shaped biscuit, making music using chime bars, face painting, designing a badge competition, playing a wide game outside and making things with the scrap store lady. They also got to have a picnic lunch outside before having a
big group photo!

Armed Forces Day Parade and Fete
Saturday 30th June

The Rainbows, Brownies and Guides took part in the Armed Forces parade from the Market Place to Colerne Primary School. After the parade was finished the girls got to enjoy the School fete where we had a Guiding stall. Thank you to the girls that joined in with running the games.

28th July to 4th August
Brumjam was an international Camp on the outskirts of Birmingham.
9 Guides, 1 Young Leader and 5 adults attended from Colerne Guides. The girls spent the week having a go at the activities at Blackwell Adventure, doing crafts and exploring the international zone, meeting new people during a Subcamp day and taking part in a mini olympics, joining in with an it's a knockout contest- where they got to the semi finals! Spending the day at Edgbaston Watersports doing raft building and sailing or Kayaking and finishing the week with a day out at Alton Towers!!
The evenings were spent dancing the night way at the entertainment zones with a variety of different themed nights and getting to know people from all over the UK.

District Rainbow Fun Day
Sunday 30th September
Some of Colerne Rainbows met up with other Rainbows in the district at our meeting place to join in with a day of crafts, cooking, games and fun to celebrate 25 years of Rainbows, the Queen's Jubilee and the 2012 Olympics. The activities included making paper flowers, listening to the story "the Queen's Knickers" by Nicholas Allen and then designing their own knickers for the Queen, they iced biscuits in the flag of a country that attended the Olympic games, painted a box silver and then decorated it, explored their senses with a blindfold trail and racing other Rainbows in an obstacle race. They enjoyed an outside picnic and played parachute games before they all the Rainbows that attended received with a special badge to celebrate the 25 years of Rainbows.
