Events of 2014

 Big Brownie Birthday Stay Away 2014 
1st Colerne Brownies were joined by Brownies from Corsham, Box and Neston to take part in a Big Brownie Stay Away pack holiday from the 7th to 11th April 2014. 53 Brownies took part in the pack holiday, all enjoying 2 nights away from home and a Big lunch all together on the change over day on the Wednesday.

 Slimbridge Rainbow Day trip 
16 Rainbows enjoyed a lovely day out at Slimbridge Wetland Centre on Sunday 8th June. The girls were met by Luke, who showed them the frogs and toads and some other amphibians and let the girls touch a few of them as well as feed some. He then walked them over to the otters and talked to the girls about the otters. Thanks Luke! the Rainbows then enjoyed their picnic lunch before playing in the park, feeding the birds and playing in welly boot land before having an ice-cream, feeding more birds and finally a trip up to the observation tower to see the view over Slimbridge and towards Wales before visiting the shop and coming home. All of the girls had a great time, as did the adults. Thanks go to all the adults- Claire, Mike, Matt and Bob (the driver)

 Armed Forces Day Parade 
Saturday 28th June saw the Rainbows, Brownies and Guides participating in the annual Armed Forces day parade through the village to the School playground. We were very lucky to not be rained on, as the weather was threatening storms.
Huge THANK YOU to all the girls who took part, especially Izzy (Rainbows), Molly (Brownies) and Meagan (Guides) who carried the standards (flags) for their Guiding units. Futher thanks go to all those who came to visit us on our stalls with the hook-a-duck, spinning Jenny and the win the toy dog which was won by Harry Rawlings. 
We look forward to doing it again in 2015 as well.

Brownie Sleepover
The Brownie Sleepover was on Saturday 12th July, the girls enjoyed activities including making cup cakes and playing team games.

Rainbow sleepover
The Rainbows had a "Charlie and the Chocolate factory" themed sleepover on Saturday 19th July. The Rainbows arrived with their golden tickets to be inspected by Willy Wonka and the Oompa Loompas, they enjoyed crafts, making their own chocolates, having a chocolate fountain for pudding and watching Charlie and the Chocolate factory.

 Brownie Star Quest 
In September, some of the Brownies enjoyed a morning activities with Brownies from the North West Wilts Division to celebrate the 100 years of Brownies. They enjoyed archery, biscuit decorating, junk modelling, treasure hunting, badge designing and going on an inflatable assault course.

Remembrance Parade 2014
On Sunday 9th November, members of 1st Colerne Rainbows, Brownies and Guides took part in the annual Remembrance parade. They met outside the Constitutional club and walked up to the Market Place where the act of remembrance was held, followed by a church Service.

Ice skating at Whitehall Garden Centre
50 Rainbows, Brownies and Guides went ice skating on Monday 15th December at Whitehall Garden Centre. They enjoyed skating and looking at the Reindeer. Thank you to all of the parents that came and helped out.
